Gracey 3/4 Curette is selected for anterior scaling and root planing when a clinician prefers a straighter blade profile than the standard Gracey 1/2 for the same tooth surfaces.

The defining feature is the single 70-degree offset cutting edge on a comparatively straighter blade, which some clinicians find easier to seat through narrow anterior contacts while still protecting the gingiva with the passive opposite edge.
