Rigid Gracey 13/14 Curette, Posterior Distal

CAD 49.99

SKU: PC277D

Rigid Gracey 13/14 Curette targets the distal surfaces of posterior teeth, built specifically for moderate to heavy calculus rather than light maintenance deposits. It keeps the same multi-angled shank and single 70-degree offset cutting edge as a standard Gracey 13/14, so it still slides past the distal contact and adapts to root curvature the same way. The shank itself is thicker and stiffer than the standard pattern, letting the clinician apply more lateral pressure without the instrument flexing before the deposit breaks free. This makes it a better fit for gross debridement and periodontal surgery on distal posterior surfaces than a standard-flex 13/14. Double-ended, medical-grade stainless steel, corrosion resistant, fully autoclavable. It is almost always stocked alongside the Rigid 11/12 so both mesial and distal surfaces can be completed with matching heavy-calculus instruments.

Rigid Gracey 13/14 Curette is selected for distal surfaces of posterior teeth carrying moderate to heavy calculus, where a standard-flex shank would bend before enough lateral pressure reaches the deposit.

The defining feature is a thicker, stronger shank than the standard 13/14, built on the same multi-angled shank and single 70-degree offset cutting edge, so the blade still slides past the distal contact and follows root curvature the same way a standard 13/14 would.

Clinically, the Rigid 13/14 is used for gross scaling, root debridement, and periodontal surgery on the distal surfaces of premolars and molars, almost always paired with the Rigid 11/12 so both mesial and distal surfaces can be completed in one appointment. Double-ended, medical-grade stainless steel, corrosion resistant, fully autoclavable.

Product Features

  • Rigid Gracey 13/14 Curette adds shank strength for heavier calculus on distal posterior surfaces
  • Same multi-angled shank and 70-degree cutting edge as the standard Gracey 13/14
  • Thicker shank resists flexing under increased lateral pressure
  • Blade still slides past the distal contact to follow root curvature
  • Suited to gross debridement and periodontal surgery, not just routine maintenance
  • Almost always paired with the Rigid 11/12 for full posterior coverage
  • Medical-grade stainless steel, corrosion resistant, fully autoclavable
