Dressing Pliers, Locking, Curved Serrated is the only pattern in this lineup built to hold a clamped grip without continuous finger pressure.
In addition to the pivot-screw hinge shared with the College and Perry patterns, this instrument has a slide-lock catch on the shank that engages to hold the jaws closed on whatever they are gripping, and releases with a light push when the hold is no longer needed. This matters whenever an item needs to stay held in place for more than a moment: compressing a cotton roll or gauze pack against tissue, holding a small item steady while both hands are needed elsewhere, or securing material through a longer procedure step without tiring the hand.
The curved, serrated tip functions the same as the other patterns in this lineup for general pick-up and placement of cotton rolls, pellets, and small restorative items. The lock is what sets this instrument apart when a task calls for sustained, hands-free pressure rather than a quick grab-and-release action.
Manufactured from medical-grade stainless steel, corrosion resistant, and built to withstand repeated sterilization cycles.
