The Spade Luxator Left is a left-angled luxation instrument specifically designed for extracting mandibular molars and root tips on the left side of the lower arch. The angled spade blade slips easily into the periodontal ligament space, applying controlled apical and rotational pressure to sever ligament fibers and loosen the tooth before elevation. This reduces the need for excessive force, lowering the risk of root fracture and bone damage. Made from high-grade stainless steel, it is fully autoclave-compatible and built for regular clinical use in both oral surgery and general dentistry settings.
The Spade Luxator Left is the mirror-pair to the Right version and is essential when working on the left side of the mandible. During lower-left molar extractions or root tip retrievals, the correct angulation allows the clinician to direct force properly into the PDL space without overextending the wrist or compromising instrument control.
The left-oriented spade blade inserts between the alveolar bone and the root surface, where a series of controlled push-and-twist movements progressively weaken the periodontal ligament attachment. Reducing ligament resistance before using elevators or forceps results in cleaner, less traumatic extractions with lower incidence of alveolar bone fracture and postoperative complications.
Clinical Indications:Â Left mandibular first and second molar extractions, mandibular left-side root tip retrieval, and any lower-left extraction requiring preliminary periodontal ligament loosening.
