Merium Plier is a one-piece spring-steel plier with a gently curved, serrated tip, used for general chairside pick-up work across restorative, hygiene, and exam appointments.
The curved tip gives a slightly better access angle and line of sight than a straight pattern when working in the posterior of the mouth, while the fine serrations on the jaw hold cotton rolls, cotton pellets, gauze, and small restorative items securely without crushing or dropping them. As a single-piece spring-steel design, it has no pivot joint that can loosen or bind after repeated autoclave cycles, so grip tension stays consistent over the life of the instrument.
A ribbed section along the shank provides a secure, non-slip hold with gloved or damp hands, which matters for an instrument that gets picked up and set down repeatedly during a single appointment. It is one of the most-used instruments in a general operatory: placing and removing cotton rolls during isolation, positioning matrix bands and wedges, and handling small tray items without direct hand contact.
Manufactured from medical-grade stainless steel, corrosion resistant, and built to withstand repeated sterilization cycles without losing spring tension.
