Marcotte Looping Pliers
CAD 179.99
Marcotte Looping Pliers form helical loops and T-loops used in space closure and retraction springs, where a consistent helix size and smooth wire path matter for how evenly the spring delivers force. Three interchangeable barrel-shaped beak ends, each a different diameter, let the clinician standardize the helix size for a given wire and avoid the sharp right angles that can create a stress point where the wire is prone to fracture under repeated flexing. The three-barrel design gives one instrument the range that would otherwise require multiple loop pliers. Wire capacity reaches .022″ x .025″ round and rectangular archwire. Medical-grade stainless steel, fully autoclavable.
A helical loop or T-loop that is wound unevenly, or that includes a sharp angle instead of a smooth curve, becomes a weak point in the spring where repeated flexing during space closure can eventually fracture the wire.
Marcotte Looping Pliers address this with three interchangeable barrel-shaped beak ends of graduated diameter, letting the clinician choose a consistent barrel size for the wire and appliance in use, which standardizes the helix and keeps the wire path smooth and continuous through the loop.
Clinically, this plier is used to form retraction springs, closing loops, and T-loops during space closure mechanics. Wire capacity reaches .022″ x .025″ round and rectangular archwire. Medical-grade stainless steel, fully autoclavable.
