Rigid Gracey 11/12 Curette, Posterior Mesial
CAD 49.99
Rigid Gracey 11/12 Curette targets the mesial surfaces of posterior teeth, built specifically for moderate to heavy calculus rather than light maintenance deposits. It keeps the same multi-angled shank curvature and single 70-degree offset cutting edge as a standard Gracey 11/12, so it still reaches the tight interproximal spaces of molars and premolars where universal curettes struggle to adapt. The shank itself is thicker and stiffer than the standard pattern, allowing the clinician to apply more lateral pressure without the instrument flexing before the deposit breaks free. This makes it a better choice for gross debridement and periodontal surgery on mesial posterior surfaces than a standard-flex 11/12. Double-ended, medical-grade stainless steel, corrosion resistant, fully autoclavable. It is typically paired with the Rigid 13/14 for complete posterior coverage.
Rigid Gracey 11/12 Curette is selected for mesial surfaces of posterior teeth carrying moderate to heavy calculus, where the tight interproximal contact demands an area-specific shank and a standard-flex instrument would bend under the pressure needed to remove the deposit.
The defining feature is a thicker, stronger shank than the standard 11/12, built on the same multi-angled shank curvature and single 70-degree offset cutting edge, so the blade still slides into the mesial embrasure and follows the root surface the same way a standard 11/12 would.
Clinically, the Rigid 11/12 is used for gross scaling, root debridement, and periodontal surgery on the mesial surfaces of premolars and molars, almost always paired with the Rigid 13/14 for matching distal coverage. Double-ended, medical-grade stainless steel, corrosion resistant, fully autoclavable.
Product Features
- Rigid Gracey 11/12 Curette adds shank strength for heavier calculus on mesial posterior surfaces
- Same multi-angled shank curvature as the standard Gracey 11/12 reaches tight interproximal spaces
- Thicker shank resists flexing under increased lateral pressure
- Single 70-degree cutting edge removes calculus while protecting the sulcus
- Suited to gross debridement and periodontal surgery, not just routine maintenance
- Typically paired with the Rigid 13/14 for complete posterior coverage
- Medical-grade stainless steel, corrosion resistant, fully autoclavable
