Williams Periodontal Probe
CAD 39.99
The Williams Periodontal Probe CPQW is a single-ended, color-coded dental probe used for periodontal pocket depth measurement, clinical attachment level recording, and gingival health assessment. It follows the Williams marking standard, one of the most established and globally recognized periodontal probe configurations used in dental practices, hygiene programs, and specialist periodontal clinics worldwide.
Color-Coded Williams Markings, 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9 & 10mm: The probe tip carries the classic Williams calibration at 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, and 10mm, enhanced with color-coded bands for faster visual identification of pocket depth readings. The color banding makes it significantly easier to read depth in narrow, bleeding, or deep sulci compared to plain engraved markings alone, reducing read errors during full-mouth periodontal charting. The deliberate gap at 4mm and 6mm is a defining characteristic of the Williams system, allowing quick identification of the clinically significant 4mm+ pocket threshold.
Clinical Applications: The Williams CPQW probe is used to measure sulcular and periodontal pocket depths, assess bleeding on probing (BOP), record gingival recession, evaluate clinical attachment loss (CAL), and monitor disease progression across multiple patient appointments. It is a core instrument in periodontal examinations, treatment planning for scaling and root planing, and post-treatment outcome tracking in both general and specialist dental practice.
Single-Ended Design, Why It Matters: The single-ended format gives clinicians a lightweight, dedicated probing instrument that is easy to maneuver during systematic full-mouth charting. It is the preferred choice for practices that keep probing and exploration as separate steps, or for those building individual instrument setups for hygiene trays.
Build & Sterilization: Made from high-grade stainless steel with a knurled, non-slip handle designed for consistent grip during wet intraoral use. Fully autoclave-compatible up to 135°C, meeting infection control standards for dental clinics, hospitals, and training institutions.
The right choice for periodontists, dental hygienists, general dentists, and dental students who follow the Williams probing protocol and need a reliable, single-purpose color-coded probe for accurate, consistent periodontal pocket depth documentation.
