Clinical Use
0/1 Serrated Marquette Condenser, 1mm/1.4mm is an amalgam plugger and condenser, built with the Marquette pattern’s serrated 1mm and 1.4mm tips, sized for fine condensation in smaller preparations. It packs amalgam into a cavity preparation in small increments, applying firm, controlled pressure to condense each layer, express out voids and excess mercury, and build the restoration up to full contour before carving begins.
Different tip sizes across the plugger series match different increment sizes and preparation geometries, from fine proximal boxes to broader occlusal fills, letting a clinician build a restoration in the sequence the preparation calls for.
Design and Handling
Serrated tip faces bite into the amalgam during condensation, preventing the tip from sliding off the material under pressure, while smooth-faced pluggers release more cleanly for a final condensing pass. The handle is weighted to support the firm, repeated packing pressure condensation requires without excess hand fatigue.
SurgiWorld’s Plugger & Condenser range spans the Hollenback, Tanner, and Marquette tip patterns in both serrated and non-serrated finishes, covering the range of increment sizes and preparation geometries an amalgam-placing operatory works with.
SurgiWorld supplies this instrument to dental clinics, restorative practices, and dental schools across Canada and the USA, backed by fast replacement stock so a worn or lost instrument doesn’t leave a gap in the tray setup.
Material and Sterilization
Manufactured from medical-grade stainless steel, corrosion resistant and rated for full autoclave sterilization without losing edge or tip definition over repeated cycles.
