1/2 Wedelstaedt Chisel, 20-15-3

SKU: RSCW12
Category:

1/2 Wedelstaedt Chisel, 20-15-3 is built with the Wedelstaedt bi-bevel blade at a 20mm/15mm/3mm profile, standard scale. A restorative chisel’s bi-bevel cutting edge is shaped to trim unsupported enamel and define a clean cavo-surface margin by hand, a finer and more controlled cut than a rotary bur leaves along a preparation’s outer wall.

It’s reached for at the margin-finishing stage of cavity preparation, most often in anterior restorative work where a sharp, precisely angled enamel margin matters for both the seal and the finished appearance of the restoration.

Manufactured from medical-grade stainless steel, corrosion resistant and rated for full autoclave sterilization without losing edge or tip definition over repeated cycles.

It’s part of SurgiWorld’s new Restorative Chisels lineup, stocked separately from the larger surgical bone chisels used in oral surgery – a restorative chisel is a lighter, finer instrument built for enamel margin work rather than bone.

SurgiWorld supplies this instrument to dental clinics, restorative practices, and dental schools across Canada and the USA, backed by fast replacement stock so a worn or lost instrument doesn’t leave a gap in the tray setup during a busy clinical day, and by a full range of matched sizes and patterns within the same product line for whenever the case calls for a different profile.

Clinical Use

1/2 Wedelstaedt Chisel, 20-15-3 is a restorative hand chisel, built with the Wedelstaedt bi-bevel blade at a 20mm/15mm/3mm profile, standard scale. It trims unsupported enamel and refines the cavo-surface margin at the edge of a cavity preparation, a hand-controlled step that follows rotary preparation and leaves a cleaner, more precisely angled margin than a bur alone typically achieves.

This margin-finishing step matters most in anterior restorative work, where the cavo-surface angle affects both the marginal seal of the finished restoration and its visible appearance at the tooth surface.

Design and Handling

The bi-bevel blade is ground on both sides of the cutting edge, giving a centered, symmetric cut that doesn’t pull toward one side of the preparation the way a single-bevel edge can. The handle is balanced for the light push-cutting stroke restorative chisel work calls for, distinct from the heavier striking use of a surgical bone chisel.

SurgiWorld’s Restorative Chisels are stocked as their own category, distinct from the surgical bone chisels used in oral surgery – a restorative operatory needs the lighter Wedelstaedt bi-bevel profile for enamel margin work, not a heavier striking instrument built for bone.

SurgiWorld supplies this instrument to dental clinics, restorative practices, and dental schools across Canada and the USA, backed by fast replacement stock so a worn or lost instrument doesn’t leave a gap in the tray setup.
