33 Root Forceps, Serrated is built with narrow beaks that taper down to fine, serrated tips, shaped to grasp a retained root fragment rather than an intact crown.
Once a crown has fractured off during an extraction, or a root has been retained from a previous procedure, there is often no bulky crown surface left for a standard forceps head to grip. The tapered beak profile closes around what remains of the root, at or below the gumline, and the fine serrations along the tip bite in just enough to prevent slipping without crushing the narrow root structure.
Clinically, it is the go-to pattern for retained root removal, used after a coronal fracture or on a root left behind from an earlier extraction attempt. Manufactured from medical-grade stainless steel, corrosion resistant, fully autoclavable.
