Dressing Pliers, Perry Pattern, Curved Serrated

CAD 44.99

SKU: DEPP1

Dressing Pliers, Perry Pattern, Curved Serrated is a pivot-hinge cotton and dressing forceps built around a sharply hooked, serrated tip rather than the gentler curve of a College pattern instrument. That tighter hook angle is what defines the Perry pattern: it lets the tip approach a posterior or interproximal site from a steeper angle without the shank blocking visibility or access, which is useful when placing or retrieving cotton pellets, small gauze pieces, or retraction cord in a tight quadrant. The pivot-screw joint, rather than a single spring-steel blade, gives a more consistent jaw closure force across the full length of the serrated tip, so grip stays even at the very point rather than tapering off toward the end as it can with a spring pattern. Because it is a hinged instrument, the joint can be inspected and, if needed, re-tensioned over its service life rather than being replaced outright. This pattern suits clinicians who regularly work posterior sites and want the sharpest available approach angle in a dressing plier, as an alternative to the more general-purpose College pattern. Manufactured from medical-grade stainless steel, corrosion resistant, and fully autoclavable.

Dressing Pliers, Perry Pattern, Curved Serrated is a pivot-hinge cotton and dressing forceps with a sharply hooked, serrated tip, used where a steeper approach angle is needed than a standard College pattern plier allows.

The defining feature of the Perry pattern is the tight hook curve concentrated near the very tip, rather than a gradual bend along the whole shaft. That geometry lets the working end reach a posterior or interproximal site while the shank stays clear of the field, useful for placing or retrieving cotton pellets, small gauze pieces, and retraction cord in a tight quadrant.

Unlike a one-piece spring-steel plier, this pattern uses a pivot-screw joint, which keeps jaw closure force consistent along the full length of the serrated tip instead of tapering toward the end. The joint can also be inspected and re-tensioned over the life of the instrument rather than the whole plier needing replacement.

Manufactured from medical-grade stainless steel, corrosion resistant, and built to withstand repeated autoclave cycles.
