Clinical Use
The Micro Mirror, Small Round 2.5mm addresses a specific visualization gap: procedures where the surgical or endodontic access is too narrow for a conventional mouth mirror. Periapical microsurgery, isolated single-canal endodontic access, and periodontal microsurgery on an individual tooth all require a mirror head small enough to sit inside the field without blocking the clinician’s own sightline or the working end of other instruments already in position.
At 2.5mm, the round concave mirror head reflects a usable image from spaces where a standard #4 or #5 mouth mirror cannot be angled into place at all. This makes it a companion instrument for microsurgical procedures performed under an operating microscope or loupes, where indirect vision is essential but the access itself is millimeters wide.
Design and Handling
The mirror head and handle are a single fixed unit – there is no threaded connection or interchangeable head to separate, lose, or reseat incorrectly between cases. This keeps the instrument simple to track through sterilization and reduces the chance of a loose mirror head during a microsurgical procedure. The round handle includes a knurled grip zone positioned for a light, pen-style hold, supporting the fine control microsurgical retraction and indirect vision demand over longer appointments.
Material and Sterilization
Manufactured from surgical-grade stainless steel and rated for full steam autoclave sterilization, the Micro Mirror, Small Round 2.5mm holds its surface finish and mirror clarity across repeated sterilization cycles. The concave reflective surface resists the clouding and micro-scratching that degrade image quality in lower-grade instruments, keeping the reflected view usable case after case.
