Rigid Gracey 1/2 Curette, Anterior

Rigid Gracey 1/2 Curette is selected for anterior teeth carrying moderate to heavy calculus, where a standard-flex Gracey shank would bend before enough lateral pressure reaches the deposit.

The defining feature is a thicker, stronger shank than the standard 1/2, built with the same blade angulation and blade width so technique and adaptation to anterior root anatomy do not change, only the amount of pressure the instrument can transmit without flexing.

Clinically, the Rigid 1/2 is used for moderate to heavy calculus removal, root debridement, and periodontal surgery on anterior teeth, often stocked alongside a standard 1/2 for lighter maintenance visits. Double-ended, medical-grade stainless steel, corrosion resistant, fully autoclavable.
