Tapered Osteotome, Concave Tip, Angulated, 4.2mm combines the graft-carrying concave tip used for indirect sinus lift elevation with an angulated shaft, offsetting the handle from the working tip for posterior access. Since sinus lift procedures are, by anatomy, almost always posterior maxilla cases, the angulation is frequently the more practical choice over the straight version once mouth opening or the opposing arch limits a straight-in-line approach. The cupped tip holds bone graft particulate ahead of it as it advances, gently fracturing the sinus floor and elevating the Schneiderian membrane without perforating it. At 4.2mm, this is the second-largest diameter in the tapered concave-tip range. Depth markings at 7, 10, 13, 15, and 18mm run along the shaft, important given how close this technique operates to the sinus floor. This angulated version is generally the more practical choice over its straight counterpart specifically because posterior maxilla sites are where limited mouth opening most often rules out a straight-in-line approach, which is also where sinus lift procedures are performed by anatomical necessity in the first place, since the maxillary sinus itself sits above the posterior premolar and molar roots rather than the anterior arch. Manufactured from surgical-grade stainless steel, corrosion resistant, fully autoclavable.

Tapered Osteotome, Concave Tip, Angulated, 4.2mm is the angulated counterpart to the straight concave-tip osteotome, built specifically for posterior maxilla sites where sinus lift procedures are most often performed.

The cupped tip holds and carries bone graft particulate ahead of it as it is advanced, using that material to gently fracture the sinus floor and elevate the Schneiderian membrane during an indirect (closed) sinus lift, without perforating it. Because posterior maxilla molar and premolar sites are exactly where limited mouth opening and the opposing arch make a straight in-line instrument difficult to seat, the angulated shaft is frequently the more practical choice for this specific procedure than its straight counterpart.

At 4.2mm, this is the second-largest diameter in the tapered concave-tip range, used at the matching stage of a step-up sequence. Depth markings at 7, 10, 13, 15, and 18mm run along the shaft, carrying particular weight in this application given the proximity of the working tip to the sinus floor throughout the procedure, and the angulated shaft keeps that critical depth visible even when the handle sits well off to one side of the working field.

Periodontists and oral and maxillofacial surgeons rely on this atraumatic, non-perforating technique as an alternative to a lateral window sinus lift in cases with adequate residual bone height, using the angulated shaft specifically where posterior access is otherwise restricted. Manufactured from surgical-grade stainless steel, corrosion resistant, fully autoclavable.
