Tapered Osteotome, Convex Tip, Angulated, 2.7mm is the angulated counterpart to the straight convex-tip osteotome, built for posterior sites where a straight in-line instrument cannot reach the osteotomy without an awkward handle position.
The convex, rounded tip works the same way regardless of shaft angle: it laterally displaces and compacts trabecular bone as it advances, condensing bone against the walls of the site instead of removing it with a drill. This increases bone density around the future implant and helps preserve ridge width, which matters most in narrow ridges and softer Type III/IV bone.
What the angulated shaft adds is access: the offset between handle and tip clears the opposing arch and cheek tissue in molar and second-premolar sites, where limited mouth opening would otherwise make a straight instrument difficult to seat correctly. At 2.7mm, this is the smallest diameter in the tapered convex-tip range, used at the matching stage of a step-up bone-spreading sequence. Depth markings at 7, 10, 13, 15, and 18mm allow depth to be confirmed visually throughout the procedure.
Periodontists, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, and general dentists placing their own implants reach for the angulated version specifically in posterior single-tooth and short-span sites, where preserving ridge width matters as much as achieving primary stability and a straight-in-line instrument simply cannot be seated correctly. Manufactured from surgical-grade stainless steel, corrosion resistant, fully autoclavable.
