U-15 Towner/33 Jacquette Scaler

SKU: PS154D
Category:

U-15 Towner/33 Jacquette Scaler is a double-ended sickle scaler with a U-15 Towner blade on one end and a 33 Jacquette blade on the other. Sickle scalers are built for supragingival calculus removal: the pointed tip and triangular cross-section cut cleanly through hard deposits above the gumline, and the Jacquette blade pattern specifically adds a tighter curve suited to reaching interproximal contacts a straight sickle can’t access as cleanly.

With combining broad supragingival access on one end with the 33 Jacquette’s finer interproximal reach on the other, this instrument covers two related access angles on one handle, useful for a hygienist working through a full arch without reaching for a third or fourth sickle pattern mid-appointment.

It’s kept on the scaling tray alongside the practice’s curettes, handling the initial supragingival calculus removal before curettes take over for subgingival scaling and root planing.

Manufactured from medical-grade stainless steel, corrosion resistant and rated for full autoclave sterilization without losing edge sharpness or shank rigidity over repeated cycles.

It’s stocked alongside SurgiWorld’s full range of Jacquette and Towner sickle scalers, giving a hygiene operatory the blade angle combinations needed to clear supragingival calculus efficiently across a full arch before curettes take over for subgingival work.

Clinical Use

U-15 Towner/33 Jacquette Scaler is a double-ended sickle scaler, built with a U-15 Towner blade on one end and a 33 Jacquette blade on the other. Sickle scalers handle supragingival calculus removal – the pointed tip and triangular blade cross-section are shaped to cut through hardened deposits above the gumline cleanly, without the rounded, closed-back profile a curette uses for subgingival work.

The Jacquette pattern’s tighter curve gives this scaler better access into interproximal contacts than a straight sickle blade allows, and combining broad supragingival access on one end with the 33 Jacquette’s finer interproximal reach on the other.

Design and Handling

Having two related but distinct blade angles on one double-ended handle means fewer instrument changes during a full-arch scaling pass, while still matching the blade angle to the specific interproximal or facial/lingual surface being worked.

SurgiWorld stocks this scaler alongside its full range of Jacquette and Towner sickle patterns, covering the blade angle combinations a hygiene operatory needs for efficient supragingival calculus removal across a full arch, with fast replacement stock so a worn sickle tip doesn’t leave a gap in the scaling tray during a busy clinical day.

Material and Sterilization

Manufactured from medical-grade stainless steel, corrosion resistant and rated for full autoclave sterilization without losing edge sharpness or shank rigidity over repeated cycles.
