10/11 Orban File Scaler is built with double-ended, flat file-textured heads on angled shanks, designed to crush and smooth heavy or burnished calculus that resists a standard bladed curette or scaler.
The file head carries multiple parallel cutting edges rather than a single blade, so instead of shaving the deposit off in one pass, it breaks the calculus down into smaller fragments that a curette can then remove more easily. The two ends of this pattern are angled to approach proximal root surfaces from complementary directions, covering more of the interproximal area without switching instruments mid-procedure.
Clinically, it is used for crushing heavy or burnished calculus deposits and smoothing root surfaces during scaling and root planing. Manufactured from medical-grade stainless steel, corrosion resistant, fully autoclavable.
