The 2N Nabers Furcation Probe is reached for whenever a periodontal exam needs to confirm whether furcation involvement is present on a multi-rooted molar or premolar, a finding a straight periodontal probe cannot assess correctly.
Unlike a straight probe, the Nabers tip is curved and blunt rather than sharp, shaped specifically to enter a furcation entrance and follow the root trunk anatomy between roots without perforating tissue or catching on the root surface incorrectly.
Clinically, the 2N Nabers is used to classify furcation involvement (Glickman Class I through IV) and to guide periodontal treatment planning on multi-rooted teeth. Double-ended, medical-grade stainless steel, corrosion resistant, fully autoclavable.
