3X Miller-Colburn Bone File 6.2 mm / 4.8 mm, Cross-Cut Curved/Paddle Bone Smoothing File

CAD 99.99

SKU: BF3XM

3X Miller-Colburn Bone File combines a curved cross-cut working end with a small paddle-shaped cross-cut end for smoothing alveolar bone in sites that require both contoured access and deep, confined reach. The curved end, matching the 2X in width, follows concave ridge or defect margins without gouging, while the smaller 4.8 mm paddle end allows deeper penetration into narrow interproximal or defect areas that a wider end cannot access. Both ends carry a cross-cut serration for two-direction bone removal. Double-ended, medical-grade stainless steel, corrosion resistant, autoclavable. The width difference between the two ends lets the clinician move from contour smoothing to depth access without switching to a second instrument.

The 3X Miller-Colburn bone file completes the series by combining the curved working end introduced on the 2X with a small paddle-shaped end sized for deep, confined access rather than the broader straight end on the 2X. This makes the 3X the instrument of choice when a site needs contoured smoothing on one side and narrow, penetrating access on the other, within the same procedure.

The curved end matches the 2X in width and is shaped to follow the concavity of a ridge depression or defect margin without gouging the surface. The opposite end is a small paddle-shaped tip at 4.8 mm, proportioned for deeper penetration into narrow interproximal spaces or the base of a confined osseous defect where the wider 6.2 mm ends on the 1X and 2X cannot reach cleanly.

Clinically, the 3X is selected when a defect or ridge site combines a contoured wall with a narrow, deep base, such as a localized bony defect adjacent to a retained root or implant site, where one end smooths the contour and the other reaches the depth. Double-ended, medical-grade stainless steel, corrosion resistant, autoclavable.

Product Features

  • 3X Miller-Colburn Bone File pairs a curved 6.2 mm end with a small 4.8 mm paddle-shaped end for contoured and deep access
  • Curved end follows concave ridge and defect margins without gouging
  • Small paddle end reaches narrow interproximal spaces and confined defect bases
  • Cross-cut serration on both ends cuts on push and pull strokes
  • Completes the Miller-Colburn series alongside the 1X and 2X for full-width and contour coverage
  • Suited to localized bony defects adjacent to retained roots or implant sites
  • Medical-grade stainless steel, corrosion resistant, fully autoclavable

3X Miller-Colburn vs 2X Miller-Colburn: The 3X pairs a curved 6.2 mm working end with a small 4.8 mm paddle-shaped end for deeper, more confined access, while the 2X pairs the same curved end with a wider 6.2 mm straight end for broader flat surfaces. Choose the 3X when the second working field is narrow or deep rather than broad and flat.
