Adson-Brown Tissue Forceps, 6″ replaces the single 1×2 tooth of the standard Adson pattern with several rows of fine interdigitating teeth running along the tip, spreading the grip across many contact points instead of concentrating force at one.
That wider distribution of holding force reduces localized pressure on the tissue being grasped, which is the reason this pattern is chosen over the standard Adson when working with thinner or more friable tissue that a single, sharper tooth could tear or crush. The tradeoff is a gentler rather than a maximally secure grip, which is the right balance for delicate handling rather than heavy retraction.
Clinically, it is used for handling thin or friable oral soft tissue during suturing and flap procedures where the standard Adson’s single tooth risks tissue damage. Manufactured from medical-grade stainless steel, corrosion resistant, fully autoclavable.
