The Angled Round Scalpel Handle #5 is a stainless steel surgical instrument designed specifically for procedures where a straight handle limits blade access or obstructs the clinician’s line of sight. The angled configuration offsets the blade from the central axis of the handle, allowing the surgeon to reach posterior regions, deep pockets, and anatomically restricted areas without repositioning the hand or arching the wrist into an awkward angle.
This handle accepts large-format surgical blades – including #20, #21, #22, #23, and #25 – making it suitable for oral surgery, periodontal flap elevation, sinus lift incisions, osseous surgery, and crown lengthening procedures in posterior quadrants. The round cross-section allows the handle to be rolled between the fingers for precise blade-angle changes mid-stroke, which is especially useful when working around curved tissue margins or anatomical landmarks.
Compared to the standard straight handle #5, the angled version reduces hand-to-field interference and gives the surgeon better visibility over the blade tip during incision. It is a preferred instrument for oral surgeons, periodontists, and maxillofacial surgeons who routinely work in the posterior mouth or perform guided bone regeneration (GBR) and implant site preparation procedures. The handle is machined from German stainless steel, rated for full autoclave sterilization, and finished with a knurled grip surface for secure, no-slip control in wet surgical fields.
