Columbia 4R/4L Universal Curette

CAD 49.99

SKU: PC111D

Columbia 4R/4L Curette is a double-ended universal curette with two mirror-image cutting edges set at 90 degrees to the lower shank, used for supragingival and subgingival scaling on anterior and premolar tooth surfaces. Because both cutting edges are sharp, the same blade removes calculus on mesial and distal surfaces without switching to a second instrument, and the rounded toe keeps the tip safe for subgingival passes. It is a general-purpose curette rather than an area-specific one, so it adapts to a wider range of tooth surfaces than a Gracey pattern. Double-ended, medical-grade stainless steel, corrosion resistant, fully autoclavable. The mirror-image ends also mean a right-handed and left-handed clinician can use the same instrument with equal control.

Columbia 4R/4L Curette is selected when a clinician wants one universal instrument that can scale both mesial and distal surfaces of anterior and premolar teeth without switching to an area-specific curette.

The defining feature is the double cutting edge on each end, set at 90 degrees to the lower shank rather than the 70-degree offset used on area-specific Gracey curettes. This gives the blade two working edges instead of one, so it can be used on facial, lingual, mesial, and distal surfaces without reorienting the handle.

Clinically, the 4R/4L is used for supragingival and subgingival scaling, root planing on anterior and premolar teeth, and general periodontal maintenance where a single versatile curette covers more of the arch than a specialized pattern. Double-ended, medical-grade stainless steel, corrosion resistant, fully autoclavable.
