Iris Scissors Curved, Tungsten Carbide, 11.5cm is built for procedures where a straight blade would need repeated repositioning to follow a curved or contoured tissue margin.
The curved blade design lets the cutting edge follow the natural arc of gingival margins, interdental papillae, palatal contours, and flap edges, keeping the operator’s hand in a natural position while the instrument adapts to the anatomy instead of the reverse.
Tungsten carbide cutting inserts hold their edge significantly longer than standard stainless steel, so cutting performance stays consistent through extended use and repeated sterilization cycles. This is particularly useful in connective tissue graft and free gingival graft procedures, where harvested tissue needs shaping to precise dimensions, and in gingivectomy, gingivoplasty, and papilla trimming along the curvature of the arch.
In posterior areas, the curved geometry keeps the blade tips visible and directionally controlled where a straight scissor’s tip would disappear behind adjacent tissue, which is especially useful during suture removal in molar and premolar regions. The sharp/sharp tip gives clean entry into fine tissue planes. Stainless steel body, corrosion resistant, autoclavable at 134 degrees C. Ring handles suit both left- and right-handed clinicians.
