The Spade Luxator Distal Angle addresses one of the more challenging aspects of tooth extraction: accessing the distal and lingual surfaces of upper arch teeth. Maxillary premolars and molars often have curved or divergent roots that require careful luxation from multiple angles. A standard straight luxator cannot reach the distal groove effectively, making this distally angled instrument a necessary part of any comprehensive extraction tray setup.
The blade of this instrument curves toward the distal direction, allowing it to seat into the distal periodontal sulcus with minimal tissue retraction. Once seated, the clinician applies controlled rotational and push forces to sever the distal PDL fibers. This reduces the overall tooth resistance and makes subsequent elevation significantly easier, particularly in maxillary molar cases with bulbous or fused roots.
