The #5 Straight Round Scalpel Handle is a surgical-grade stainless steel handle designed for use with large-format blades (#20–#25), making it a go-to instrument for oral surgery, periodontal flap procedures, and osseous surgery. Its straight, round profile allows free blade rotation without hand repositioning – giving surgeons reliable control across extended incisions. Autoclave safe and built for heavy clinical use.

SKU:SH151

The #5 Straight Round Scalpel Handle  is a standard surgical instrument used in oral surgery, periodontal procedures, and soft tissue management. Its straight, cylindrical profile provides a consistent grip axis, making it well-suited for longer incision strokes and procedures where the clinician needs stable, linear blade control. The handle is compatible with large-format blades including #20, #21, #22, #23, and #25 – the blade sizes most commonly used in flap surgery, extraction site preparation, and hard tissue exposure.

Manufactured from German stainless steel, the handle is autoclavable and built for repeated sterilization without surface degradation. The round cross-section allows the instrument to be rotated freely between the fingers, giving the surgeon natural blade-angle adjustment during tissue reflection or suture incision without repositioning the hand. This is particularly useful in posterior oral surgical access where wrist mobility is limited.

Compared to the more common #3 and #4 handles, the #5 handle is longer and thicker, offering better balance when used with larger blades. It is a preferred choice for oral and maxillofacial surgeons, periodontists, and general dentists performing surgical extractions, crown lengthening, or osseous surgery.
