2W Wakefield Bi-Bevel Chisel 3 mm, Single-Ended Tooth Splitting Chisel

CAD 99.99

SKU: CH2W

2W Wakefield Bi-Bevel Chisel is a 3 mm bi-bevel single-ended instrument used for splitting teeth during surgical extraction, sized for molars and wider teeth where the narrower 2.7 mm 1W would require more passes to complete the split. The bi-bevel tip carries beveled cutting edges on both faces of the blade, distributing splitting force symmetrically when the chisel is driven into the tooth body, producing a controlled, centered split rather than one that pushes the tooth to one side. At 3 mm, the 2W is the standard working size in the Wakefield pair. Single-ended, medical-grade stainless steel, corrosion resistant, autoclavable.

SKU:CH2W

The Wakefield bi-bevel chisel 2W extends the same bi-bevel single-ended splitting mechanism as the 1W to a wider 3 mm blade, giving the clinician more tooth-splitting coverage per stroke for wider or multi-rooted teeth. The bi-bevel tip distributes splitting force evenly across both beveled faces, producing a centered split rather than deflecting the tooth toward one root.

At 3 mm blade width, the 2W is the standard working size for molar extractions and wider single-rooted teeth, where the narrower 2.7 mm 1W would need additional passes to complete the split efficiently. The wider blade also engages more of the tooth body per stroke in cases where the crown or root trunk is broad.

Clinically, the 2W is the default Wakefield size for routine molar splitting, with the 1W reserved for narrower or single-rooted teeth and tight interproximal access. Single-ended, medical-grade stainless steel, corrosion resistant, autoclavable.

Product Features

  • 2W Wakefield Bi-Bevel Chisel 3 mm splits molars and wider teeth in fewer strokes than the narrower 1W
  • Bi-bevel tip distributes splitting force evenly across both blade faces for a controlled, centered split
  • 3 mm blade width is the standard Wakefield working size for routine molar extraction
  • Single-ended design for directional control during surgical extraction
  • Matched pair with the 2.7 mm 1W Wakefield for standard versus narrow splitting tasks
  • Medical-grade stainless steel, corrosion resistant, fully autoclavable

2W vs 1W Wakefield: Same bi-bevel single-ended design, but the 2W’s 3 mm blade is the standard size for molars and wider splitting tasks, while the 1W’s 2.7 mm blade is for narrower, single-rooted teeth and tight access.

Matched Pair: The 1W and 2W Wakefield Bi-Bevel Chisels are designed as a matched narrow/standard pair for tooth splitting. Stock both to cover single-rooted and narrow sites (1W) alongside molars and standard splitting tasks (2W).
