7 Left Bernard Elevator 3.6 mm, Posterior Left Syndesmotome and Periotome

CAD 129.99

SKU: EL7BL

7 Left Bernard Elevator is a 3.6 mm concave-tip syndesmotome on a contra-angled shank, built to sever the periodontal ligament and elevate small roots on posterior teeth on the left side of the arch. The contra-angle positions the concave tip in line with the periodontal ligament space on posterior teeth, where the straight-shank 11 Bernard cannot seat correctly. Acting as a periotome, it loosens the tooth atraumatically before forceps are applied, reducing extraction force and helping preserve the surrounding alveolar bone. Single-ended, medical-grade stainless steel, corrosion resistant, autoclavable. Left-side posterior extractions are where the contra-angle earns its keep, letting the tip seat against the root without the wrist position a straight instrument would require.

The 7 Left Bernard Elevator mirrors the 6 Right to bring the same ligament-severing, periotome function to posterior teeth on the left side of the arch. Also referred to as a syndesmotome, it is used at the start of an extraction sequence, before forceps or a luxator is introduced.

The 3.6 mm concave tip matches the 11 Straight and 6 Right in geometry, but the shank carries a contra-angle specifically oriented for the left side of the arch, positioning the tip against the root surface of posterior teeth in correct alignment with the ligament space. This angled access is what separates it from the anterior-pattern 11 Straight.

Clinically, the 7 Left is used on premolars and molars on the left side of the arch to sever the ligament circumferentially before forceps are seated, reducing the force needed for extraction and helping preserve the buccal plate and surrounding alveolar bone. Single-ended, medical-grade stainless steel, corrosion resistant, autoclavable.

Product Features

  • 7 Left Bernard Elevator 3.6 mm concave tip severs the periodontal ligament on posterior left teeth before extraction
  • Contra-angled shank positions the tip in line with the ligament space on left-side premolars and molars
  • Functions as a periotome, loosening the tooth atraumatically ahead of forceps application
  • Reduces the extraction force required and helps preserve the buccal plate and alveolar bone
  • Same 3.6 mm concave tip geometry as the 11 Straight and 6 Right Bernard Elevators
  • Paired with the 6 Right Bernard Elevator for full posterior arch coverage
  • Medical-grade stainless steel, corrosion resistant, fully autoclavable

7 Left vs 6 Right Bernard Elevator: Both carry the same 3.6 mm concave tip and contra-angled posterior shank, but the 7 Left is angled for access to teeth on the left side of the arch while the 6 Right mirrors that angulation for the right side. Stock both to cover posterior extractions on either side without repositioning a single instrument.

Set of Three: 11 Straight, 6 Right, 7 Left Bernard Elevators: The 11 Straight, 6 Right, and 7 Left Bernard Elevators are designed as a complete set for full-arch periodontal ligament severing and small root elevation. The 11 Straight covers anterior teeth, while the 6 Right and 7 Left provide contra-angled access to posterior teeth on each side of the arch. Stock all three for complete coverage before extraction.
