Barnhart 5/6 Universal Curette

CAD 49.99

SKU: PC131D

Barnhart 5/6 Curette is a double-ended universal curette with a thinner, longer terminal shank and two cutting edges per end, built to reach deep into periodontal pockets on posterior teeth. Because it is a universal instrument rather than an area-specific one, the 5/6 scales both mesial and distal surfaces of molars and premolars without the clinician switching tools mid-quadrant. The longer shank geometry gives it better access than shorter universal curettes when a pocket runs deep on a posterior tooth. This versatility streamlines scaling and improves chairside efficiency during hygiene appointments. Double-ended, medical-grade stainless steel, corrosion resistant, fully autoclavable. It is a common addition to a hygiene tray for practices that see a high volume of periodontal maintenance patients each day.

Barnhart 5/6 Curette is selected for posterior scaling appointments where a clinician needs a universal instrument with enough shank length to reach into deep periodontal pockets on molars and premolars.

The defining feature is a thinner, longer terminal shank than a standard universal curette, paired with two cutting edges per end so both mesial and distal surfaces of a posterior tooth can be scaled without switching instruments.

Clinically, the 5/6 is used for supragingival and subgingival scaling and root planing on premolars and molars, particularly where pocket depth makes a shorter-shanked universal curette difficult to seat correctly. Double-ended, medical-grade stainless steel, corrosion resistant, fully autoclavable.
