Tip Back Pliers

CAD 179.99

SKU: RT176

Tip Back Pliers bend down the distal extension of a stainless steel archwire that protrudes past the buccal molar tube, forming a smooth tip-back bend rather than leaving a straight length of wire to irritate the cheek. The contra-angled design reaches the posterior region without obstructing the clinician’s view of the bend, and the beak shape is built for stainless steel wire specifically; a superelastic NiTi archwire needs the cold-cinching mechanism of a hammerhead-style plier instead. Wire capacity reaches .022″ x .025″ round and rectangular archwire. Medical-grade stainless steel, fully autoclavable.

SKU:RT176

A stainless steel archwire that protrudes past the last molar tube needs to be tipped back into a smooth bend rather than left straight, both for patient comfort against the cheek and to help hold the wire securely in the tube.

Tip Back Pliers are shaped for exactly this bend, with a contra-angled design that reaches the posterior region without blocking the clinician’s line of sight. The beak geometry is matched to stainless steel wire, which bends and holds its shape differently than superelastic NiTi.

Clinically, this plier is used at the finishing step of placing a stainless steel archwire, after the wire is engaged in the molar tube. Wire capacity reaches .022″ x .025″ round and rectangular archwire. Medical-grade stainless steel, fully autoclavable.
