12/13 Orban File Scaler carries the same double-ended, file-textured head construction as the 10/11 pattern, set at a wider shank angle built for posterior proximal surfaces that the narrower-angled 10/11 does not reach as cleanly.
Rather than replacing the 10/11, this pattern is kept alongside it so proximal coverage extends further around the posterior arch. Matching the file’s angle to the specific tooth surface being treated, instead of forcing a single angle to work everywhere, is the whole reason Orban files come in more than one numbered pattern.
Clinically, it is used for crushing and smoothing heavy calculus on posterior proximal surfaces during scaling and root planing. Manufactured from medical-grade stainless steel, corrosion resistant, fully autoclavable.
Product Features
- Same double-ended, file-textured head design as the 10/11 pattern
- Wider shank angle built for posterior proximal surface access
- Complements the 10/11 rather than replacing it in a scaling set
- Extends proximal calculus removal coverage around the posterior arch
- Suited to scaling and root planing where angle access is the limiting factor
