5 Schmeckebier Apexo Elevator, Right, for Deep-Seated and Fractured Root Tips

CAD 109.99

SKU: EL5SA

5 Schmeckebier Apexo Elevator is a right-side pattern elevator used to displace deep-seated and fractured root tips during extraction, loosening the root from the periodontal ligament so it can be removed without an open surgical flap. Like other Apexo elevators, its narrow tip is built to engage the periodontal ligament space around a root apex rather than the broader ridge surfaces a bone chisel or rongeur addresses. The right-side angulation of the 5 Schmeckebier gives correctly oriented access on that side of the arch, and it is listed by the manufacturer as a suggested pair with the left-side 4 Schmeckebier. Single-ended, medical-grade stainless steel, corrosion resistant, autoclavable.

The 5 Schmeckebier Apexo Elevator is reached for when a root tip has fractured during extraction or when a root is deeply seated and needs to be displaced before it can be removed, most often on maxillary posterior teeth and mandibular teeth. As an Apexo-pattern elevator, its role is displacement of the root tip itself rather than the bulk ligament-severing role filled by a periotome or the ridge-shaving role filled by a bone chisel.

The narrow, tapered tip is sized to engage the periodontal ligament space directly around a root apex, letting the clinician work the root loose with controlled leverage instead of open surgical access. The 5 Schmeckebier carries a right-side angulation, positioning the tip correctly against roots on that side of the arch, which is what separates it from the mirrored, left-side 4 Schmeckebier.

Clinically, the 5 Schmeckebier is used for removal of fractured single roots after separation and for apical fragment removal, and it is listed as a suggested pair with the 4 Schmeckebier so both sides of the arch are covered. Single-ended, medical-grade stainless steel, corrosion resistant, autoclavable.

Product Features

  • 5 Schmeckebier Apexo Elevator displaces deep-seated and fractured root tips on the right side of the arch
  • Narrow tapered tip engages the periodontal ligament space directly around the root apex
  • Right-side angulation positions the tip correctly without repositioning the clinician’s grip
  • Used for removal of fractured single roots after separation and apical fragment removal
  • Suited to maxillary posterior and mandibular extraction sites
  • Listed as a suggested pair with the left-side 4 Schmeckebier Apexo Elevator
  • Medical-grade stainless steel, corrosion resistant, fully autoclavable

5 Schmeckebier (Right) vs 4 Schmeckebier (Left): Both carry the same Apexo tip geometry for displacing deep-seated root tips, but the 5 Schmeckebier is the right-side pattern and the 4 Schmeckebier is the left-side pattern. These are commonly stocked as a suggested pair so a clinician has correctly angled access to either side of the arch.

Suggested Pair: 4 and 5 Schmeckebier Apexo Elevator: The 4 Schmeckebier (left) and 5 Schmeckebier (right) Apexo Elevators are a suggested pair, mirrored to give left- and right-side access to deep-seated and fractured root tips. Stock both to cover apical root removal on either side of the arch without repositioning a single instrument.
