6/7 Orban Hoe Scaler is built with a spoon-shaped blade set at an angle to the shank, carrying a single cutting edge designed for a controlled pull stroke rather than the shaving action of a sickle scaler or the crushing action of a file.
The angled blade engages the tooth surface just beneath a calculus deposit and lifts it away in one continuous pull, which works well on supragingival ledges of calculus where the deposit sits above the gumline in open, visible access. The double-ended handle pairs two complementary blade angles so adjacent tooth surfaces can be treated without switching instruments.
Clinically, it is used for removing supragingival calculus during routine scaling appointments. Manufactured from medical-grade stainless steel, corrosion resistant, fully autoclavable.
